Our mission
is to support social justice organizations through workplace giving programs and other philanthropic initiatives. Founded in 1984, Community Shares is Cleveland's only workplace giving federation with a focus on social justice and the second largest such fund in the country. Award Winning Detroit Shoreway Neighborhood
The Detroit Shoreway neighborhood is experiencing a renaissance as a place to live, work, and play. With small businesses, residents, city government, foundations and non-profits supporting the continued development of the neighborhood, nearly $500 million is being invested in this lakefront community. Two New Organizations Join Community Shares Non-Profit Federation
Greater Cleveland Community Shares announced that the InterReligious Task Force on Central America (IRTF) and InterAct Cleveland have become its newest members. Community Shares is a membership organization of local non-profits dedicated to promoting social justice and making local neighborhoods stronger. Since its founding in 1984, Shares has invested $13 million in Greater Cleveland’s neighborhoods. Read More
